In 2016, I lost my job and needed help with food. Thanks to CROS, I was able to get food until I got back on my feet again. Four years later, I am once again struggling because I have been laid off due to COVID-19. I know that this is only temporary, and I once again will not need the pantry. However, I am happy it is here for me again when I need it.
It was late in the afternoon, when I passed someone walking down the street with a bag of food. When I asked about the food, the gentleman told me about the food pantry. I was recently laid off from my job because of COVID-19. Money is tight right now, and I had not eaten all day. I was grateful that I too could receive a bag of food from the CROS pantry. It was a shining light for me during a very dark day.
I recently moved down to Florida in hopes that I could find a new start. Because of the COVID-19 crisis, all my job prospects dried up. The money I saved for the move is gone and now I am homeless. I am grateful for CROS Ministries’ Food Pantry, which is my one bright shining light during this uncertain time.
I was riding on a bus when I saw CROS Ministries’ Mobile Food Pantry distributing food in Riviera Beach. I am a restaurant server and have four children. I had not seen a paycheck in three weeks because my restaurant had to close due to COVID-19. This was my first experience getting food from a food pantry. I am grateful for the food and to be able to feed my family.
