CROS Ministries More Information

CROS Camp is a nine-week summer day camp program for children, who have completed kindergarten and just finished 8th grade, living in Title I zip codes (neighborhoods receiving federal funding for schools where at least 40% of the students are from families with low incomes) in Boynton Beach and Lake Worth. Our camp program promotes school readiness, ensuring proper nutrition, and guaranteeing a safe nurturing place for campers to call “home” during the day. CROS Campers receive lunch, and snacks daily from Palm Beach County’s Summer BreakSpot program and breakfast as needed. Camp activities include: laying the foundation of Christian morals and values, on site or off-site field trips, academics, music, sports, arts and crafts.

Want to be a CROS Camp Counselor? We are seeking 18 interns ages 19-30 years old (by 8/31/18) who have the desire to work with children in our local community and have fun while doing it. Interested? You will need to apply through the 2018 STEP (Summer Transformation Education Program) Mission Internship.

The mission of the STEP (Summer Transformation Education Program) Mission Intern Program is to provide hands-on opportunities for young adults to make a difference in the world by serving out of a deep level of their Christian faith, particularly with children and youth in underserved communities. Ministry sites are primarily Christian day camps and outreach ministries connected with The Florida Conference of The United Methodist Church. The duration of the internship is 9-11 weeks (between the dates of May 21- August 4, 2018) and is dependent upon the site at which the intern is placed. A stipend of at least $2,000 for the summer is provided, based upon completion of entire term of service.
